One of the oldest cold cases in Washtenaw County, Michigan is the death of a seven year old boy, Richard Streicher.
Richard asked his parents if he could go sledding but he never came back to meet his friends and was never found alive again.
Richard’s parents searched for him in the cold before contacting the police.
The next morning two boys on the way to school found his body frozen to the ground under a bridge.
Richard had been stabbed to death.
Due to the sensationalism of his murder, Richard wasn’t given a headstone right away. In fact, it took 80 years.
