When Magic Goes Wrong

In 1936, George Lalonde was prepared to saw his assistant in half as a magic trick.

He was in Montreal, Canada and the audience had not seen the trick before.

Worried that George was going to actually cut her in half, a man Henry Howard jumped on stage with a sword.

He stabbed George Lalonde in the neck, trying to save the woman.

George survived, and at the hospital, was able to explain that the girl was not in danger.
